Treatment Philosophy
Karyn works with couples, families, and individuals using collaborative methods which invite her clients to be actively involved in their own work. She has a strong belief in the healing power of human connection and views her work through the lens of relational neuroscience. She believes in treating clients holistically to address mind, body, and spirit, and integrates techniques from a variety of theoretical orientations including family systems, cognitive behavioral, somatic, and humanistic.
Education
M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University (2019)
B.A. in Dramatic Art from University of CA, Davis (2011)
Professional Experience
In addition to her work with FTI, Karyn received clinical training at CALM (Child Abuse Listening Mediation) where she worked with families, children, and adolescents experiencing domestic violence and trauma. Prior to becoming a therapist, she enjoyed a career with Disney in the areas of leadership development and career counseling.
Personal Life
Karyn is a big community theater nerd and loves all forms of creative expression. She believes that storytelling is one of humanity’s greatest tools through which we connect, learn, and grow. She loves living so close to the ocean and enjoys the foggy coastal weather.
