Stuart Light is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice. He serves as an independent consultant to FTI in Substance Related and other Addictive Behaviors. Stuart has many years of clinical experience treating these types of life problems, and uses a humanistic, non-judgmental approach to therapy that promotes compassionate self-inquiry and motivation to change. He is also skilled in treating co-occurring disorders, issues related to life transitions, relationships, and college age young adults. In his practice, Stuart treats individuals, couples, and families.
Stuart also serves as an Affiliate Professor in the Master’s in Clinical Psychology and Bachelor’s Programs at Antioch University, Santa Barbara. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Alcohol and Drug Certification Program at Santa Barbara City College. Stuart’s teaching specialties include: Addictive Behaviors, Psychopathology, Psychopharmacology, Stress, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Clinical Practicum, and Healthy Aging.
