Treatment Philosophy & Approach
My first priority in therapy is to create a compassionate and supportive environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I take a relational approach, grounded in the belief that healing happens in the context of safe, attuned connection. My therapeutic style is integrative and collaborative, drawing from family systems, humanistic and person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and somatic practices. I believe in tending to the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and I work alongside clients to support deeper self-understanding and meaningful change.
As a certified yoga instructor, I also bring a grounded appreciation for the mind-body connection. Practices like mindfulness, breathwork, and movement often inform my work, offering additional pathways to healing and resilience.
Professional & Volunteer Experience
In addition to my work as a therapist, I continue to teach middle and high school students—a role I’ve held for over twenty years. Teaching has given me a deep understanding of the academic and personal challenges that young people and their families face. I especially love working with adolescents; my time in the classroom has taught me the value of consistency, humor, and presence. These experiences continue to shape not only my passion for clinical work but also the way I show up for clients each day.
Alongside my work in education and therapy, I’ve also taught yoga to both children and adults for many years. My commitment to community and well-being extends into projects that support youth, education, and families in both structured and informal ways.
Specialties & Areas of Expertise
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have a special connection with teens, developed through many years in education, and I enjoy helping young people navigate academic stress, anxiety, identity, and family dynamics.
I also work with parents and families seeking greater connection and understanding in their relationships. I’m particularly interested in integrating somatic and mindfulness-based practices into therapy, and in helping people explore how their emotional experience shows up in their bodies. I draw from a range of clinical approaches, including narrative therapy, family systems, CBT, person-centered therapy, and somatic work. I’m currently completing my Master’s in Psychology and will graduate in September 2025.
Personal Life
Outside of my professional life, I love reading, poetry, yoga, hiking, backpacking, and spending time in nature. I find joy in quiet mornings, long walks, and good conversations. I treasure time with my son, my husband, and a close circle of friends and family. These parts of my life help me stay grounded, connected, and present; qualities I bring with me into my work as a therapist.
