Elyse works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. In her twenty years of experience as a middle and high school teacher, she cultivated a deep understanding of the challenges that today’s young people face both academically and personally. This experience led Elyse to pursue clinical training as a therapist and fueled her passion to help families. She has a special connection with teens that evolved in her years working at Middle School.
Elyse’s first goal is to create a compassionate, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions and achieve greater well-being. Elyse believes treatment should integrate both mind, body and spirit. She uses family systems, humanistic/person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic approaches.
In addition to her work in education, Elyse has also been a yoga instructor for many years. Her background in yoga taught her valuable insights about the mind-body connection. She witnessed firsthand how practices like mindfulness can positively impact emotional and mental health.
Elyse enjoys reading, poetry, yoga, hiking, backpacking and being outdoors, and spending time with her son, husband and beloved friends and family.
